Minuteman Before/After
Using the Minuteman permanent implant device to treat Spondylolisthesis

Southern Pain performed placement of a Minuteman device for spondylolisthesis (a “slipped” vertebrae) last week. This procedure resulted in significant almost immediate relief. The patient related severe back pain when standing or changing positions that felt like “his back shifted”.

The Minuteman is placed by a small incision through small tubes inserted in the subcutaneous tissues of the back. The device clamps onto the spinous process (the back bone you can palpate), stabilizing the vertebrae and creating additional space if the nerves are “pinched”.

Southern Pain has placed more than 25 of the Minuteman and Vertiflex devices with tremendous success. The Minuteman device will treat degenerative disc disease and spondylolisthesis and to some extent spinal stenosis. Vertiflex is an even less invasive implant that is very effective in treating spinal stenosis!
